Welcome to our website and welcome back to my original office home. We moved back to Mogadore during the COVID19 epidemic increasing our office space dramatically. My staff and I look forward to meeting your primary care needs

2023 is a better year I am happy to have been practicing in this area now for 32 years. Dr Cain and Associates is now 7 years old. We strive to remain an independent family practice, which allows us to remain patient focused, refusing to be conflicted with the goals of a hospital system. We work with all of the regional health care systems. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful caring staff and now with the addition of nurse practitioners, George Wolfe CNP, Marilyn Perkowski, CNP and now Wendy Pribanich CNP. We have really improved our ability to provide superior service for our patients.

Since my Family Medicine residency completion (Eastern Virginia, 1991) and ongoing Family Medicine board certification, I came home and have faithfully serviced this area for the last 32 years. I began my medical practice with Dennis McCluskey M.D. in Mogadore; our office has many familiar faces from the former Portage Hills Family Medicine Practice. Our group strives to continue the friendly high quality service and accessibility that all patients deserve.

Please welcome George Wolfe our nurse practitioner that joined this practice in February 2019. He has vast experience in internal medicine especially geriatrics. He is a proud Navy veteran serving as a corpsman prior to getting his nursing and nurse practitioner degrees.

Also, let me reintroduce Marilyn Perkowski to most of you. She worked with Dr McCluskey and me several years ago. She is a Family nurse practitioner and has been a teacher for nurse practitioner students through the University of Akron. She works with all ages and is comfortable with women’s health.

Wendy Pribanich has worked with Akron General Cleveland Clinic and took care of many of my patients after I left Portage Hills Family Medicine. She lives in Uniontown and is raising her family in our immediate practice area.

We currently use AthenaHealth as a medical record and billing system that includes a very easy to use web portal that is accessible from this web site. It makes requesting appointments, asking non emergent questions, requesting refills and paying bills easier than ever and available 24 hours a day. Consider registering for a patient portal account after scheduling your first visit (or maybe have one of your children make one for you). You can enter pertinent personal health information prior to your visit and review Care Summaries and results after encounters. Also consider requesting your medical records from your previous health provider, and as always please bring a current medication list including all of your medicines, vitamins and supplements with you. (Medicine bottles are even better). We also will require a photo ID and insurance information at sign in.

PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY TO VERIFY WHAT LAB COMPANIES ARE IN YOUR NETWORK.. Even within some insurance policies, we cannot guarantee what lab service will be covered. We use a variety of labs, Quest is available on site, and we also use Aultman Hospital, and Cleveland Clinic Laboratories.

We do offer telehealth visits in our practice. I can schedule video visits with patients via cell phone or laptop. Congress has approved Medicare to pay for telehealth visits for now. These visits will be useful to triage appropriate ill or frail patients keeping them out of the office and it may be useful to review tests, manage treatments including blood pressure monitoring (if you have a blood pressure machine.)
